Tour Itinerary

Day 1 Tuesday, November 10, 2020
Arrival / Cairo
Accommodation: The Oasis Hotel
Meals: Dinner
Upon arrival at Cairo Airport, we will be met in the tunnel by an airport representative who will facilitate the visa process (Visa fee excluded) and escort us through customs and immigration. Continue on to the baggage claim hall and finally to the passenger pick up, where we will be introduced to our private driver who will drive us to our accommodation. It can take an hour to get from the airport to our hotel, after checking in, enjoy time at leisure to explore at our own pace, or relax at the hotel.
Note:
* Strict dress code for visiting mosques and churches. Men must wear long pants and shirts with sleeve no tank tops. If you're wearing sandals or flip-flops you must wear socks. (No bare feet). Similarly, women must be modestly dressed, no see-through clothes, bare shoulders, etc.

This morning we are met at our hotel by our private guide and driver for a full day tour of the ancient Memphis, the Saqqara and the pyramids at Giza. Drive south to Memphis first to visit this ancient capital of Egypt during the Old Kingdom. Then we move on to the Step Pyramid of Saqqara. Finish with the most iconic and largest pyramids at Giza and the mysterious Sphinx, a colossal lion with a pharaoh's head.

Day 3 Thursday, November 12, 2020
Cairo

After the breakfast, we will explore the Egyptian Museum, which houses a magnificent collection of Pharaonic antiquities, especially the golden treasures of Tut Ankh Amun. Later we will proceed to Old Cairo to visit the Citadel of Salah El Din, and the Mohammed Ali Mosque situated high above the city. Finish the trip at the Khan El Khalili Bazaar to browse and shop.

Day 4 Friday, November 13, 2020
Cairo / Luxor

This morning, transfer to the airport for a short flight to Luxor. Upon our arrival in Luxor, be met and transferred to our hotel. Enjoy a private tour to explore the East Bank of Luxor. We will explore the Temples of Karnak with our Egyptologist guide. Walk along the Avenue of Sphinx to enter the complex as our guide explains how the massive facade was constructed. Continue to Luxor Temple which was once joined to the Temples of Karnak by a two-kilometer long Avenue of Sphinx, a portion of which marks the entrance to the temple. Our private guide will offer interpretation and guide us through the most important parts of the temples.
In the late afternoon, we will take a 3-hour Felucca Ride on the Nile River in Luxor on a traditional felucca sailing boat.  We'll enjoy the beauty of the Nile - a felucca is a wonderful way to see the banks of the Nile.

 

Day 5 Saturday, November 14, 2020
Luxor

Today we will visit the Valley of the Kings where we will have the chance to explore three tombs of the ancient Pharaohs. We will then visit the recently renovated mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Hatshepsut was the second pharaoh of the eighteenth dynasty of Ancient Egypt. The tour also includes a visit to the huge Colossi of Memnon which are all that remain of the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III. Stay overnight in Luxor. 


Day 6 Sunday, November 15, 2020
Luxor / Cairo / Amman

This morning, we will be escorted to Luxor Airport for our flight to Amman via Cairo Airport, we will transfer to our connecting flight to Amman at Cairo Airport. Welcome to Amman! Upon arrival at Queen Alia Airport in Amman we will meet our local representative in order to facilitate all the formalities. After immigration, visa issuance and luggage pick-up we'll check-in to our hotel, and relax at leisure for the rest of the day. Evening photo walk is optional. Overnight in Amman.

Day 7 Monday, November 16, 2020
Amman / Jerash / Amman

Our first full day of touring in Jordan will begin with the ancient city of Philadelphia, the Roman Theater and Citadel. We will drive north stopping at Jerash, one of the best preserved Roman cities in the world. We will visit the Hippodrome, Temples of Zeus and Artemis, two theaters and the famous Hadrian's Arch. We will return to Amman for dinner and overnight.

Day 8 Tuesday, November 17, 2020

Amman / Petra

This morning we check out of our hotel in Amman and drive south to Wadi Mujib where we explore its narrow canyons and spectacular waterfalls. Afterwards we will continue driving down King's Highway towards the ancient Nabataean capital Petra where we will check into our Guest House for 2 nights. Our hotel lies at Petra's boundary making our photographic day far more productive since we spend very little time commuting to our destination.

Day 9 Wednesday, November 18, 2020
Petra

Today we tour one of the world's most impressive and atmospheric archaeological sites. The Nabataean city of Petra. Petra reveals itself to us following our walk through a deep ravine called The Siq. We will visit the Treasury, The Theater, the Royal Tombs and the Monastery. After a long day we return to the Guest House.
Note: At the entrance to Petra travelers are offered the option to ride a horse for 800m (free of charge)- from the visitor center to the entrance of the dramatic “Siq” (canyon). From the entrance to the Siq there is a 1,250 meters walk to the 1st monument “The Treasury” and there is horse carriage ride available for this 1.2km at additional USD20/person, we HIGHLY recommend taking the walk through the valley to enjoy the views, instead of taking this bumpy ride.

After the spectacular day in Petra the excitement keeps going...today we will visit one of the most beautiful deserts in the world, Wadi Rum or Moon Valley, where we see very huge Sandstone Mountains scattered on the horizon. Among these mountains we can see endless colorful sand plains. Embark on a 2-hour Jeep ride and 1 hour camel ride in the desert to enjoy the breathtaking view afterwards drive to our camp in Wadi Rum for overnight.

Day 11 Friday, November 20, 2020
Wadi Rum / Allenby Bridge Border (Jordanian Side) / Jericho

After checking out of our Bedouin camp, we drive to the Jordan River Crossing and enter Palestine. We drive to Jericho, one of the world's oldest cities, where we check into The Oasis hotel for dinner & overnight.
Note:

* At Allenby Border, your Jordanian driver will be with you at Jordan Terminal to assist you on necessary procedures. Please keep JOD40/person in cash for the border crossing: JOD20/person for departure tax & around JOD10/person for shuttle bus and luggage.
* On your arrival to Israel Terminal, you need to go through border Passport Control and Customs, then exit to a small parking lot, as Allenby is different with other borders like at airports/ports/stations, our driver may not be allowed to hold the sign to welcome you at the exit, instead he will come to you to double check your names to make sure he picks up the right person. If he is not there when you come out, please call him as he is probably waiting for you inside the vehicle as your arrival time is uncertain.
* It's wise to arrive to the border earlier than normal if it happens to be on a Friday and Saturday (need to be at the border before 10AM on Saturdays), because working hours for these two days are shorter.

Day 12 Saturday, November 21, 2020
Jericho / Dead Sea / Masada / Jerusalem

An early drive will take us through the Wilderness of Judea to the Jordan Valley and south along the Dead Sea, earths lowest point. Here we will see the new displays at the bottom of Masada and take a cable car to the top to see the ruins of the palace-fortress built by Herrod the Great and to recall the story of the Zealots' last stand against the Romans. Driving north we'll have lunch at Ein Gedi, one of the areas where David hid from King Saul. Then it’s on to Qumran, home of the Dead Sea Scrolls, where we'll do a Dead Sea float followed by a short drive to our hotel in Jerusalem.


Day 13 Sunday, November 22, 2020
Jerusalem

After breakfast, we will begin our Jerusalem city tour with a stunning view of the city from the revered Mt. of Olives, then we will start our guided walking tour, Via the Chapel of Dominus Flevit, designed in the shape of a teardrop to symbolize the tears of Christ, arrive at the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus prayed the night before his arrest. Nearby are the Cave of the Assumption of Mary, believed to be the Virgin Mary's tomb; and the Cave of Betrayal, where Judas betrayed Jesus. Follow the Via Dolorosa with its nine Stations of the Cross, marking the path Jesus walked on the way to his crucifixion. In Golgotha, visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, erected on the site of the crucifixion and which houses the remaining five Stations of the Cross. Walk past the Temple Mount to see the Dome of the Rock, which is sacred to both Jewish and Muslim people. On to the Western Wall, the only remnant of the Second Temple, then stroll through the restored Jewish Quarter to Mount Zion and visit the Upper Room, where Jesus and his disciples had the last supper; the Tomb of King David; and the House of Caiaphas, where Jesus was kept the night after his arrest and where Peter denied knowing him three times. Overnight in Jerusalem.

* Private English speaking guide for today.
* * Please be aware that The Temple Mount is closed to visitors on Friday and Saturday. In that case, we suggest changing the tour sequence so that we could still visit these two sites. While the complex is open to all people, non-Muslim visitors will NOT be allowed entry into the building of the Dome of the Rock.

* Visiting Hours for Monday through Thursday:
Winter: 7:30 am – 10:30 am and 12:30pm – 1:30 pm
Summer: 8:30am – 11:30am and 1:30pm – 2:30pm
* In order to enter, both men and women need to be dressed modestly. No weapons are allowed and visitors may not bring in any sacred Jewish objects, such as a prayer book or a tallit. Visitors may be asked to show their passports.

Day 14 Monday, November 23, 2020
Jerusalem / Yad Vashem / Bethlehem / Jerusalem

After breakfast, we will visit the Yad Vashem, the "World Holocaust Remembrance Center," then continue to the Israel Museum to see the Shrine of the Book and the Dead Sea Scrolls as well as a scale model of Jerusalem at the time of Christ. Proceed to Bethlehem and see Shepherd's Field, where the angels announced the birth of Jesus. Next, visit the Church of the Nativity, which stands on the site where Jesus was born. On the way back to Jerusalem, visit the Garden Tomb. Return to our hotel after visit.

Day 15 Tuesday, November 24, 2020
Tel Aviv / Jerusalem / Tel Aviv /

Jerusalem Free day until flights leave for home.

3. Meeting & assistance at airport/station/ferry and all needed transfers as per itinerary.

Flights: Cairo - Luxor, Luxor - Cairo, Cairo - Amman airport tax and fuel fee included, economy class. Please be aware that for all domestic flights listed in the itinerary, only one piece of checked luggage is allowed with limit up to 20 kg and 7-8 kg for hand carry baggage.
5. Sightseeing as outlined in the itinerary.
6. Accommodation with daily breakfast. *Check-in & Check-out time: generally check in after 2 pm and check out before 12 pm (noon). Early check-in or late check-out is subject to room availability and may generate additional half/full day room charge.
7. Private Transfers between airports, hotels and scenic spots while in each city or area via private air-conditioned vehicle as listed in the itinerary. Appropriate size vehicles will be used according to the number in our group to ensure you have enough leg room and luggage space. Please be aware that the arrival or departure transfer is based on all members arriving or departing on the same flight, additional cost will be charged when arriving or departing on different flights and separate transfers is required.
8. One bottle of drinking water per person per day is provided.
9. Our offer includes the planning, handling, operational and communication charges & current VAT Taxes.

PACKAGE PRICE EXCLUDES:
1. Sightseeing/Meals NOT listed in the itinerary.
2. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 month for your trip. Visa requirement varies from country to country, please consult us if you are unsure whether visa is required for your trip.
* Jordan Visa--For citizens of over 100 countries worldwide, a single-entry visa can be obtained on arrival to any Jordan port except Wadi Araba border between Jordan and Israel. The Jordanian Government has waived visa fees for all non-restricted nationalities coming through Jordanian tour operators whether travelling individually or in groups. The visa fee is waived on the condition that the traveler/travelers spend a minimum of two consecutive nights in Jordan. For those who stay less than two nights will subject to a visa fee around USD60/person on arrival, only cash in Jordan Dinars is accepted for arrival visa.
* Israel Visa--Israel has visa exemption agreements with 100 countries and regions for visits of up to 90 days. For Australian, Canadian, UK and US citizens, no prior visa is required however you in some cases you will need to pay an exit tax of US$30. Instead of a passport stamp, you will receive an entry card that must be presented during your stay and when you leave the country. Before your departure, please double check the updated information on website of Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
3. The suggested gratuities of USD 7-10 per traveler per day to the tour guide and USD 6-8 per traveler per day to the driver, and USD 3 per traveler to our representative at airport/station if there is one. However, this is just a suggestion and gratuity depends on the services you receive.
4. Travel Insurance Please note that the full coverage travel insurance from your country of origin should be purchased in advance and is NOT included in the cost of the tour.
5. Personal expenses such as room service, internet charge (if any), laundry, drinks, fax, telephone call, optional activities, etc.
6. Excess Baggage Charge. Extra or overweight luggage will subject to extra cost, please pay the airlines directly upon checking in at the airport.
7. Optional activities either recommended by tour guides or out of your own interests.
9. Depending on which country you are in, some hotels only have free WIFI available in the lobby and some with free WIFI coverage in room. Please ask the hotel front desk on this upon checking in.

Tour Difficulty = Easy to Moderate

Easy = less than 2 miles walking/day and little climbing; Moderate = up to 5 miles walking per day with some climbing; Strenuous = more than 5 miles/day of walking and several climbing/hills/rough terrain expected.  You should know your health and ability to carry your gear in hot, cold, humid, and dry conditions and be able to walk 5 miles or more per day and make climbs in elevation of up to 1000 feet in gain and be OK climbing many steps or steep terrain.

 

 

Cancellation Policy

Pursuant to Clause 2 under Enrollment: If you need to cancel within a stated refund period, M&M Photo Tours, Inc. may allow you to apply all monies paid to a future trip, within 12 months.  We must receive written notification (E-mail is accepted) of your cancellation and your desire to apply the funds to a future trip.

 

We strongly recommend that you purchase trip cancellation insurance as this policy is strongly adhered to. The purchase of travel insurance covering baggage, accident/life and trip cancellation is highly recommended.  M&M Photo Tours, Inc. reserves the right to cancel any trip/tour/group due to insufficient registration at any time.  In the even of such cancellation, those with reservations shall be notified as soon as possible and a full refund of trip payment will be given.  It is agreed by registering for any M&M Photo Tours, Inc. tour that M&M Photo Tours, Inc.   assumes no responsibility for refund or additional expenses incurred in preparation for a trip.
